Preparation for Games

Team U,
The bracket has been set for the Waldbaum's cup second round. We are going off to Port Washington! They beat Dix Hills 1-0 in the first round. It should be a good game. Quite a few teams in our division did well as Longwood beat VOB, West Babylon beat Massapequa, Commack beat Plainedge and Cold Spring Harbor beat Albertson. We have quite a strong division!!
We are playing the West Babylon Chilipeppers tomorrow 5:20 PM @ Moriches (Turf). Please be on the field ready to play @ 4:40 PM wearing WHITE (bring RED just in case).
Tonight we have practice scheduled for 5:15-6:45 PM @ Moriches. Bring your cleats only!

To paraphrase some wise person Sometimes Bad Coin Flips Happen to Good People! Unfortunately the coin flip pretty much told the story for Saturday's game. Being a goal or at most two would have been a challenge being down three at the half is a difficult chore even with the wind. The girls pressed the entire second half but it wasn't to be. Nevertheless we need to find something good in what transpired, learn from it and move on to the next objective. In this case the next objective is the Waldbaum's Cup game scheduled for April 18 in Port Washington.
I just spoke to Lupe and we are looking at having our regularly scheduled practice at Smithtown East tomorrow night. Please remember to bring both sneakers & cleats. If anyone is driving by East tonight please check to see of the place is locked up due to the vacation week. If the gates are locked we will need to go to plan B which would be Moriches. Also due to the fact that this Friday is Good Friday we were planning on holding a practice on Thursday. I heard through the grapevine that some of you were looking at getting together on Thursday perhaps you could meet prior to our practice session.
